Code of Ethical Business Conduct 33
Slavery and Human
Trafficking
Slavery and human trafficking are violations of fundamental human
rights. They take many forms, including servitude, forced and compulsory labor, all
of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order
to exploit them for personal gain. Martin Marietta has a zero tolerance approach
to slavery and human trafficking and is committed to acting fairly, ethically and
with integrity in all of its business affairs. We are committed to enforcing effective
systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place
anywhere in its own business or in any of its supply chains.
Under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, certain corporations are required to
make disclosures as to the steps taken to ensure their businesses and supply chains
are free from slavery and human trafficking. Consistent with that requirement,
Martin Marietta is committed to ensuring transparency in its approach to tackling
slavery and human trafficking. We expect the same high standards from all of our
vendors, suppliers and business partners.
